Need help for your drinking problem?

We who are in A.A. came because we finally gave up trying to control our drinking. We still hated to admit that we could never drink safely. Then we heard from other A.A. members that we were sick.  We found out that many people suffered from the same feelings of guilt and loneliness and hopelessness that we did. We found out that we had these feelings because we had the disease of alcoholism. We decided to try and face up to what alcohol had done to us. Here are some of the questions we tried to answer honestly.

For the family or friend of someone with a drinking problem

If someone you care about has a drinking problem, A.A. might have a solution for them. A.A. has helped more than two million alcoholics stop drinking. Recovery works through one alcoholic sharing their experience with another.

Al-Anon Family Groups is another Twelve Step program of recovery. Their members are made up of people concerned with someone’s drinking problem. In Al-Anon members have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others who have faced similar problems.

A.A. Can Support Professionals

Professionals who work with alcoholics share a common purpose with A.A.: to help the alcoholic stop drinking. A.A. members are available to provide A.A. meetings or information about A.A. upon request.
